CUTE Pokemon figures make great party favors August 31, 2010
By Teachermom
Amazon Verified Purchase
Durability: Educational: Fun:
We bought this assortment to use as favors for my son's 6th birthday party, which was Pokemon-themed. The figurines are about 1.5 inches tall, so they might be a bit on the small side compared to other Pokemon action figures you typically find in retail stores. My kids really don't care about that, though. They actually seem a little sturdier than some other action figures we've owned. The small parts, such as Cherubi's leaves and Raichu's ears are fairly thick plastic and would be unlikely to break as a result of normal play. Although the product description said that we'd receive 12 random, assorted characters, we received the exact 12 shown in the picture. There were enough popular characters that all the kids felt they'd gotten a "good" or a "cute" one and no one was cranky about it. If you're really a perfectionist about this type of thing, you should know that 2 of the figures (Raichu and Drapion) are not exactly as they appear in the games or the anime series. Raichu's ears are out of proportion with his head, and Drapion has is missing his long, scorpion-like legs. All in all, I would certainly recommend this product, whether you are using them as favors, like me, or if you are just looking for a cute assortment of Pokemon figurines for your kids or your collection.

Bootlegs. December 2, 2010
By Collector
Durability: Educational: Fun:
I wouldn't be typing this if it weren't for the only other review which mentions giving these things out to children at a party. These are bootleg figures. And most likely these figures are made with dangerous chemicals in the paint or plastic, going from the history of bootleg Pokemon figures that you find frequently floating around in cheap "clearance" stores of ill repute. If the figures don't match the characters in the games or shows, it's (more often than not) a bootleg. There are exceptions, but this is most definitely a lot of bootleg figures.I do not own this lot, but I wanted to give people looking for toys for their children and loved ones a warning. Bootlegs usually have unsafe chemicals in the paint or in some part of production, and despite seeming sturdier or less likely to break, there's still a chance a toddler who teethes on all their toys can get very sick from these toys in other ways.Nintendo sells a large amount of figures and toys that are not only non-toxic, but safe for toddlers and young children. (Try "kids" figures, which are hollow and solid, which are safe for young ones, or even the plush known as "pokedolls" which don't have buttons or as many things to pull off and swallow.)If you found any information false, I apologize. But I couldn't sit back and let this go unmarked, as bootlegs can be very dangerous when given to children, especially during this holiday season, as you look for something for the Pokemon Trainer in your life, and don't know what's what.

Fake figures December 21, 2011
By mewtwohavoka
Durability: Educational: Fun:
These figures are bootlegs, made with cheap paint (probably lead) and dangerous, off-gassing chemicals. PLEASE do not give these to a child! They could get very sick. For just a little more money you can get them the real figures (that are 100% safe). This is just a warning to parents who may not know better - I am a professional Pokemon collector and I know bootlegs the moment I see them. Please be safe and don't let children have these.
